Yucong Chen graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts (USC). The short film "Unfinished Life" won the 47th Student Academy Award and was nominated for the FLICKERS’ RHODE ISLANDINTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL and St. Louis International Film Festival. Other works have been shortlisted for the Canadian International Short Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Awards, Rome Independent Film Festival, San Diego Asian Film Festival and others more film festivals and exhibition units. Yucong pays attention to women's themes. Most of her films explore topics such as marginalized communities, immigration, encounters and separations.
